Chronicle Prelude

The bustling frontier town of Dusthaven, built around the mouth of the Deepvein Mine. The air is thick with dust, tension, and the distant, ominous rumble of settling earth. Miners, guild officials, and desperate refugees crowd the makeshift command post near the sealed mine entrance.

Environmental Traits

The immediate crisis: a massive cave-in has sealed the mine's lower shafts, trapping dozens of miners and cutting off access to a newly discovered, impossibly rich adamantine vein. Rescuers, profiteers, and opportunists have descended into the upper tunnels.
