The Brinebound Schism
The coastal town of Saltspire is dying. A creeping blight of necrotic seawater emanates from the Shipgraveyard, poisoning fisheries and causing madness. The town's desperate plea reveals a schism: the Sahuagin Deepfolk, once guardians of the abyssal barrier, are now divided. A mutiny has thrown their society into chaos, and the cursed flotilla of sunken ships may be the key to sealing the rift—or unleashing something far worse upon the waves. Veteran players will navigate treacherous alliances, delve into drowned ruins, and face a choice where both sides bleed red.
Chronicle Prelude
The players arrive in the salt-crusted, struggling port town of Saltspire, built upon the very bones of ancient wrecks. The air smells of brine, rot, and fear. Fishermen return with empty nets or catch that writhes with unnatural, bone-white growths. A delegation of grim, land-dwelling Sahuagin exiles has made camp on the outskirts, their presence causing tension and whispers of the 'Tide's Curse' returning.
Environmental Traits
The Shipgraveyard is a vast, supernatural flotilla of wrecked vessels from across the ages, magically suspended and interlocked in a dense, fog-shrouded maze of rotting wood and cursed iron. At its heart lies the 'Abyssal Maw,' a rift to the Elemental Plane of Water, now corrupted by a creeping necrotic influence that is killing the ocean and driving the Sahuagin to violent madness. The curse must be contained or cleansed before it consumes the entire coastline.
