Chronicle Prelude

The village of Brinecrest is a place of quiet panic. Nets hang empty, salt-worn faces are gaunt with hunger, and the air reeks of brine and chemical rot. The central well is guarded, the granary is nearly bare, and whispers of the 'Tangle' and the 'Foul Water' divide families and neighbors. This is your safe zone, a hub of desperation and conflicting information.

Environmental Traits

The Seaweed Beds have mutated into a semi-sentient, aggressive kelp-forest labyrinth that is actively encroaching on the farmland and village. The root cause is the alchemical 'Growth-Gro' fertilizer, dumped by the Farmers' Collective, which has interacted with the latent magic of the beds. The crisis will climax in the Heart of the Tangle, where the source of the corruption—both magical and moral—must be confronted and a choice made to sever one thread or the other, dooming a way of life either way.
