The Glimmer Camp and the Felled Boundary
The Silverleaf Forest, once a shimmering demesne of the Glimmer Fey, is scarred by the camp of mortal adventurers who sought its wonders. At its heart, the ancient Boundary Tree that sealed the Fey Crossing lies felled, its stump weeping raw arcane sap. The forest's protective glamours are failing, blurring the line between the Material Plane and the chaotic Feywild. Two desperate factions now vie for control of the crisis: the displaced Glimmer Fey, who see the act as a sacrilege that demands a tithe of mortal memory, and the Circle of Thornes, mortal druids who believe the only path to healing is to harvest the tree's dying heartwood to fuel a new, more permanent seal, dooming the fey to exile. The players are trapped in the middle, their choices determining whether the forest is healed, doomed, or transformed into a new and unstable hybrid realm.
Chronicle Prelude
You arrive at the smoldering ruins of the 'Glimmer Camp,' a temporary settlement of richly appointed tents now torn and abandoned. The air hums with residual enchantment and the scent of ozone and crushed silverleaf. Near the center, a colossal stump, twenty feet across, dominates the clearing. It pulses with a faint, sickly light. Littered around are discarded spell components, empty potion vials, and a half-eaten journal with entries about 'the ultimate prize.'
Environmental Traits
The collapse of the Boundary Tree's seal is causing chaotic 'Bloom Events' throughout the forest, where the Feywild bleeds through, warping terrain and creatures. The ultimate goal is to resolve the crisis before the entire forest is permanently consumed by the fey realm or becomes a dead zone of crystallized magic. The fate of the Glimmer Fey and the mortal settlers of the nearby valley hangs in the balance.
