The Resonance Cage of Redstone Canyon
The crimson spires of Redstone Canyon have become a battleground of sound and silence. A faction of sky-pirates, the Stormcast Eagles, uses magically enhanced eagles to intercept vital arcane cargo shipments. In response, the Merchant's Consortium has erected massive High-Frequency Arcane Antennas across the canyon, creating a 'Resonance Cage' that disrupts all flight and unprotected minds within its walls. Caught between the thunder of the antennas and the talons of the eagles, the canyon's native populace and the PCs must navigate a conflict where both sides claim to act for the greater good, and the air itself is a weapon.
Chronicle Prelude
The PCs arrive at the isolated canyon outpost of 'Echo's Rest', a neutral trading post built into a massive rock formation. The air hums with a low, dissonant vibration from the distant antennas, and all messenger birds sit listless in their coops. The Consortium's head of security, a hard-eyed woman named Valerius, is offering a bounty to 'deal with the pirate problem', while a wounded eagle-rider crashes into the town square, begging for sanctuary from 'the mind-killer towers'.
Environmental Traits
The High-Frequency Antennas are causing cascading ecological damage, driving canyon fauna mad and threatening to collapse unstable rock formations. The Stormcast Eagles, while disruptive, claim the Consortium is secretly siphoning the canyon's natural ley-line energy, which the antennas are designed to mask. The players must decide whose truth to uphold and whose survival to ensure, knowing that disabling the antennas fully will allow unrestricted aerial piracy, while leaving them on will eventually render the canyon uninhabitable.
