The waters of Shipwreck Reef are churning with more than just currents. A desperate fishing fleet's massive chum dump has agitated the reef's ancient predators, turning a salvage yard into a feeding frenzy. Two factions, each with a claim to the reef's secrets, are locked in a silent war, and the players are caught in the bloody middle. Veteran players will find no clear heroes here—only survivors clinging to different definitions of survival.

Chronicle Prelude

The players arrive at 'The Keelhauler's Last Call,' a ramshackle tavern built into the hull of a beached galleon on the only stable spit of land near the reef. The air stinks of salt, blood, and desperation. The tavern is the neutral ground and information hub for both factions.

Environmental Traits

The region is in ecological and economic crisis. The chum dump has created a 'Serrated Tide,' drawing colossal, mutated sharks that destroy salvage crews and fishing boats alike. The ultimate goal is to navigate the treacherous factions and monstrous wildlife to reach the 'Leviathan's Heart,' a sunken pre-human temple at the reef's core said to hold an artifact capable of calming or weaponizing the beasts.

Reef Watcher Keziah
A monstrous hybrid of humanoid and shark. Keziah's torso is muscular and scarred, while her lower body is that of a massive reef shark, grafted or grown through dark magic. Her eyes are pure black, and she moves with a terrifying, fluid grace through the water.
Salty Gulls (Scavengers)
Three gaunt, desperate-looking humans dressed in a mishmash of stolen gear and sailcloth. They are armed with rusty cutlasses and harpoon guns. Their eyes are wild with hunger and greed.
The Abyssal Matriarch
An ancient, colossal great white shark, easily sixty feet from nose to tail. Her hide is a tapestry of scars, and bioluminescent algae cling to her flanks, pulsing with an eerie blue light. Her jaws are large enough to swallow a boat whole.
Lighthouse Keeper Varn
An elderly, blind man with milky eyes, sitting calmly by a smoldering signal fire atop the Shattered Spit. He wears the tattered remains of a naval officer's coat and holds a gnarled driftwood cane. He seems unnaturally aware of his surroundings.
Rigger Miles
A twitchy young man in a Consortium mechanic's jumpsuit, his fingers perpetually stained with grease and explosive powder. He keeps looking nervously towards the Brood's territory.
