The Shattered Gears of Gearheart Precinct
The air in Gearheart Precinct tastes of oil and ozone, a city built upon the bones of a dead god's clockwork heart. The automatons that once maintained the city are now snapping their jaws, their safety protocols shorted out by a desperate Foreman. You arrive as outsiders, drawn by the promise of salvage, only to find yourselves caught in a civil war of ideology and survival. The Workshop wants to restart the great engine to save the city from collapse. The Safety Collective wants to dismantle it to prevent a catastrophic meltdown. Both are right. Both are willing to kill. Your choices will determine which gears remain turning, and which are ground to dust.
Chronicle Prelude
The Rustchew Saloon, a neutral ground in the Precinct's undercity, filled with the hiss of steam and the low murmur of tense factions. Here, whispers of the Foreman's betrayal and the city's impending doom are currency.
Environmental Traits
The Great Gearworks, the city's heart, is failing. Its emergency safety fuses were sabotaged, causing its clockwork hounds and maintenance automatons to malfunction and become violently hostile. The city faces imminent structural collapse or a catastrophic arcane meltdown, depending on who you ask.
