The Shattered Oath of Granite Hall
Deep beneath the Ironspine Mountains, the ancient Dwarven stronghold of Granite Hall has fallen silent. The legendary Stone Lords—living constructs bound by the sacred Runestone of the Ancestors—have turned hostile, sealing the halls and slaughtering any who enter. Two desperate factions claim to hold the key to salvation, but their methods and visions for the future are irreconcilable. The players are the last hope to unravel the mystery of the tampered Runestone and decide the fate of a dying culture.
Chronicle Prelude
The players arrive at the Gilded Antechamber, the last safe outpost before the sealed gates of Granite Hall proper. Here, the air is thick with incense and tension, as representatives of two rival factions make their case to desperate miners and refugees.
Environmental Traits
The Runestone of the Ancestors, the source of the Stone Lords' animating magic and the Dwarves' connection to their lineage, has been tampered with. Its corrupted energy now drives the Stone Lords to enforce a brutal, ancient code of purity, sealing the inner halls and attacking any they deem 'unworthy.' The players must navigate the labyrinth, uncover the truth, and make a choice that will either restore, destroy, or fundamentally alter Dwarven society.
