During the annual town founder's day festival at the Croft Estate, the reclusive patriarch, Silas Croft, collapses during a birthday toast. The independent investigator is called to examine the scene and the testimonies of the household members present. A web of conflicting accounts and domestic irregularities awaits.
Initial Crime Scene
The heavy scent of beeswax polish and stale tobacco smoke clings to the paneled walls of the study. A grandfather clock ticks with a slow, dominant rhythm in the corner. Your gaze falls upon a heavy mahogany desk, its surface reflecting the dim light from a window. Indentations and scratches mar the oak floorboards near the head of the dining table, partially obscured by a large, ornate Persian rug.
Crime Scene Environment
The primary living spaces are lit by the warm, inconsistent glow of oil lamps and candlelight, creating deep shadows and pockets of amber light. The air is still and carries a persistent, low-level humidity, making the scent of old wood and fabric more pronounced.
