Aetherbloom Displacement: The Siphoned Sky
The annual Aetherbloom Festival, a convergence of Elven High Magic and celestial alignment, has catastrophically backfired. The Grand Portal meant to channel starlight for blessings instead ruptured, displacing entire festival districts into a fractured, liminal twilight realm. Worse, the Archmage Elowen, tasked with stabilizing the ritual, consumed a vat of Excess Starlight Wine—a potent arcane catalyst—and has since vanished, her consciousness fused with the unstable rift. The displaced Elven city is now a landscape of shifting memories and raw magic, contested by two desperate factions: the Seelie Court Preservationists who see this as a tragic but sacred evolution, and the Unseelie Reclamationists who view it as a theft of the material world requiring violent correction. Your party, caught in the displacement, must navigate the fracturing reality to find the Archmage and decide the fate of thousands.
Chronicle Prelude
The Shattered Promenade: A once-grand avenue of crystalline trees and floating lanterns now lies fractured into floating islands of stable terrain, connected by bridges of hardened moonlight. The air hums with residual magic, and ghostly echoes of festivalgoers flicker at the edge of vision. This is the last bastion of relative normalcy—a pocket dimension anchored by the Festival's central pavilion.
Environmental Traits
The entire region is a 'Rift-Domain'—a pocket plane created by the failed ritual, slowly collapsing. Victory requires locating Archmage Elowen's consciousness within the Rift-Core and either helping her seal the domain, merging it permanently with the Feywild, or severing it entirely to return the displaced to the Material Plane, each choice carrying profound consequences for both factions.
