Darkmantle Web Blockade of Darkiron Mountain
The ancient dwarven stronghold of Darkiron Mountain has fallen silent. A monstrous, living web of giant darkmantles, creatures of magical darkness and silk, has cocooned the entire mountain, sealing the last dwarven king and his legendary crown within. Two desperate factions now vie for control of the fate of the mountain, each with a claim to its treasure and a terrifying justification for their actions. You are not heroes called to save the day; you are scavengers, mercenaries, or idealists trapped in a web of moral compromise, where every choice to advance is a choice to condemn.
Chronicle Prelude
You arrive at the Web's Edge, a chaotic camp of tents and torches built from the shattered timbers of old mining outposts. The air is thick with the smell of fear, burnt silk, and unwashed bodies. The great web of Darkiron Mountain looms before you, a shifting, near-solid wall of shimmering, magically-charged silk that pulses with a faint inner darkness. Two banners fly over the largest pavilions: the crimson hammer of the Ironbreakers and the azure chalice of the Deepdelvers.
Environmental Traits
The region is defined by the Dwarven Crown Enmeshed Within the mountain's core, a legendary artifact said to grant dominion over stone and earth. Its retrieval, however, requires navigating the darkmantle-infested web that is not merely a trap, but a living, thinking entity that adapts to intruders. The crisis is one of succession and survival: who will claim the crown and, with it, the right to decide the fate of the dwarven people and the dangerous power sleeping beneath the mountain?
