The Ashenforge Accords
The Blacksmiths' District of Ashenforge was the heart of the city's economy, famed for its self-forging hammers—arcane constructs powered by deep-earth resonance. Now, the hammers malfunction in violent, unpredictable ways, causing 'Drunken Forging' events where molten metal erupts like geysers and enchanted tools attack their wielders. Two guilds, the Pragmatic Forgemasters and the Resonant Purists, blame each other for the catastrophe. Players must navigate the ruined district, uncover the true source of the corruption, and decide the fate of a city's soul. This is not a tale of good versus evil, but of desperate preservation versus zealous purity.
Chronicle Prelude
The players arrive in the outer market square of the Blacksmiths' District, a relative safe zone now crowded with displaced refugees, injured workers, and nervous city guards. The air smells of ozone and scorched metal, and the distant, rhythmic booming of malfunctioning hammers echoes from the deeper foundries. A 'Drunken Frequency' alarm klaxon—a magical siren—wails intermittently from the district's central tower.
Environmental Traits
A catastrophic arcane-industrial meltdown threatens to consume the entire city. The self-forging hammers' core resonance is destabilizing, creating dangerous 'frequency zones' that warp reality and metal alike. If the malfunctioning forge-heart is not stabilized or silenced, the resulting arcane detonation will level Ashenforge. The players must venture into the heart of the industrial labyrinth to confront the source.
