The Blackmire Sludgequakes
The Old Quarter of Blackmire is sinking. Not from war or age, but from a creeping, living corruption. Massive, pallid leeches, bloated on alchemical runoff, have infested the ancient sewer mains, forming living blockades that choke the district's lifeblood. Above, two desperate factions wage a silent war in the shadows: one seeks to burn the plague out with fire, the other to contain and study it, believing it holds a miracle cure. You are caught in the muck between them, where every choice stains your hands.
Chronicle Prelude
The Stilthouse Precinct, a rickety wooden district built over the semi-drained canals of Blackmire's Old Quarter. The air smells of brackish water, damp wood, and something acridly chemical. Residents eye the slowly rising waterline with quiet terror.
Environmental Traits
The Old Quarter is experiencing seismic tremors ('Sludgequakes') as colossal, alchemically-mutated leeches breed and feed in the labyrinthine drains below. Their secretions are destabilizing the very foundations, threatening to collapse the entire district into the sewers. The crisis is a direct result of black market apothecaries dumping failed, volatile formulations into the city's waste system.
