The Blighted Sprawl of Greenleaf
You are not heroes. You are survivors, thrust into a war between desperate goblins clinging to a poisoned home and an ancient treant slowly dying from a blight it cannot cleanse. The goblins see you as either a tool or a threat; the Treant sees you as a potential vector or a necessary sacrifice. The path through Greenleaf Wood is a gauntlet of moral compromise, where every choice to aid one side dooms the other, and the true enemy may be the wood itself.
Chronicle Prelude
The party arrives at the fortified logging camp of Fort Timbers, a frontier outpost on the edge of Greenleaf Wood. The air is thick with tension and the smell of wet sawdust and fear. Refugees from the wood's interior whisper of 'goblin fires' and 'the whispering trees,' while the camp's commander seeks mercenaries to investigate a missing supply caravan. The true nature of the conflict within the wood is not yet known.
Environmental Traits
A vast, ancient forest known as Greenleaf Wood is undergoing a catastrophic ecological shift. A mysterious, aggressive blight is killing the sacred Greatwood Tree, the heart of the forest's ecosystem and home to its guardian, the Treant Elder. In a desperate bid for survival, the local goblin tribes have united and launched a brutal campaign to burn the infected sections, believing fire is the only cure. This 'uprising' has shattered the fragile peace, drawing the attention of human settlers, druids, and now, you.
