The Buried Sentry: A Desert Gaol's Thirst
The party arrives at the sun-blasted ruins of Kharadun, the 'Desert Gaol,' an ancient imperial prison half-buried by sand. A decades-long sandstorm, the 'Eternal Grit,' has isolated it, turning it into a crucible of survival. Two factions vie for control of the last remaining water source: the Gaol's desperate, law-abiding descendants, and the resourceful descendants of its inmates who stole the vital caravan. You are the outsiders, and every sip of water is a political choice.
Chronicle Prelude
The Sentry Outpost: A crumbling watchtower at the edge of the shifting dunes. A small, fortified settlement of gaol guards' descendants clings to life, rationing water from a deep, sacred well. They are suspicious of outsiders but desperate for news and aid. The air tastes of grit and paranoia.
Environmental Traits
The 'Eternal Grit' sandstorm has severed all trade and communication. The region is a lawless, resource-starved hell. Victory means either securing a future for one faction, forging a desperate compromise, or discovering the storm's unnatural origin and ending it, but at a terrible cost.
