The Chillhowl Crucible
A desperate migration of remorhaz driven from the underdark by a failing, ancient dwarven furnace has turned the surface into a frozen hellscape. Two factions—refugees seeking survival and a dwarven cult seeking to restore their god's fire—offer conflicting salvation, forcing you to navigate a land where the ground itself is a battlefield and mercy is a luxury you cannot afford.
Chronicle Prelude
The besieged mining outpost of Frosthollow, a cluster of half-buried stone buildings on the flanks of Chillhowl Peak. It is the last bastion of civilization, surrounded by the eerie glow of remorhaz tunnels breaking through the permafrost, and the distant, rhythmic pounding of something immense echoing from the mountain's heart.
Environmental Traits
A subterranean dwarven furnace, built to honor a primordial fire deity, has begun to malfunction, superheating the deep rock and driving a swarm of remorhaz to the surface. This migration is freezing the mountain passes and destroying settlements. The region is caught between the literal heat of the abyss and the encroaching frost of the swarm.
