The Cinder Volcano: Stolen Hearth
The lifeblood of the Emberfolk is gone. The Hearth-Core Shard, a pulsating geode of pure elemental fire that sustained their mountain home and magma beetle herds, has been stolen by a band of desperate outsiders. You descend into the bowels of the Cinder Volcano, not as a hero, but as an arbitrator between a dying culture and a starving one. Every step on the cooling, cracking stone is a choice between two futures.
Chronicle Prelude
The Smoldering Caldera, a precarious settlement built on cooling obsidian shelves around the volcano's lip. The air is thick with sulfurous smoke and the low, mournful hum of the Emberfolk. Their magma beetle caravans stand still, their internal fires dimming. The path down into the volcanic throat is guarded by tense, grieving Emberfolk warriors.
Environmental Traits
The Hearth-Core Shard's theft has initiated a rapid geological decay. Without its stabilizing warmth, the volcano's internal structure is becoming dangerously unstable, threatening to collapse entirely and bury both the Emberfolk and the stolen shard's new owners. The region faces total annihilation unless the shard is returned to its crucible.
