Two desperate factions—the stranded Bridge-Wardens and the pragmatic 'River Reapers' bandit gang—are locked in a bitter struggle over the bridge's remains and the secrets it guards. Players arrive to find the crossing impassable, trapped between a crumbling fortress, a crab-infested river gorge, and a web of mutual accusations. Every path forward is stained with moral compromise.

Chronicle Prelude

The players arrive at Broken-Bridge Station, a crumbling stone outpost on the edge of a deep river gorge. The once-mighty bridge is a shattered ruin, its central span gone. The air is thick with the sweet, cloying scent of ripening crab bait. The Wardens, gaunt and desperate, man makeshift barricades, while distant campfires of the River Reapers flicker on the opposite bluff. The only sound is the chittering of unseen giant crabs in the gorge below.

Environmental Traits

The gorge is a deathtrap: sheer cliffs, raging water, and a labyrinth of tidal caves below. The collapsed bridge holds a hidden vault, the 'Anchorstone Archive', containing pre-collapse engineering records and a sealed ledger implicating a powerful regional lord in sabotage. Both factions seek this prize for leverage and survival, using the Rock Crabs as both weapon and deterrent.
