The Iron Vein Convergence
The great Beneficiation Plant of Ironvein, a sprawling industrial complex where raw ore is purified into usable metal, has suffered a catastrophic malfunction. Its arcane Magnetic Separators, designed to pull ferrous material from worthless rock, have overloaded, creating a massive, unstable field that is dragging all metal—weapons, armor, tools, and even the nails from buildings—toward the central processing core. This 'Excessive Ingot Pull' threatens to collapse the entire district. Veterans are hired to enter the compromised plant, diagnose the cause, and stop the pull, only to discover two desperate factions have their own plans for the chaotic metal storm.
Chronicle Prelude
The players start in the Ironvein Foundry District, a safe but tense zone on the periphery of the malfunction. The air hums with a low, dissonant resonance. Buildings are being hastily reinforced with wood and rope as citizens surrender their metal goods to avoid being pulled toward the shimmering, distorted core of the plant visible in the distance. A crisis council of engineers and overseers awaits in a timber-reinforced guildhall.
Environmental Traits
The core malfunction is not an accident but a failed attempt by the Forgeborn faction to create a new, superior form of living metal to end their people's dependence on mortal mining. Their experiment was sabotaged by the Ashen Compact, who believe the unnatural convergence of metal is an abomination that will unleash a 'Rust Elemental Apocolypse' and must be stopped by any means necessary, even if it means destroying the entire plant.
