The Leechbound Quagmire
The Old Quarter's sewers are choked. Giant, mutated leeches, bloated on failed antitoxins dumped by desperate apothecaries, have formed living blockades in the sluice gates. The water supply is poisoned, and the district is quarantined by the city guard. Two factions vie for control of the solution, each with a terrifyingly logical point. The players are trapped inside, forced to navigate the fetid, leech-infested tunnels to find a way out—or a cause worth fighting for.
Chronicle Prelude
The Plague Ward Refuge: A hastily fortified tenement in the Old Quarter, sealed from the outside by city guard barricades. The air smells of antiseptic and rot. The only water comes from a single, guarded cistern. Refugees, smugglers, and the sick huddle here, whispering about the 'Leeward Drift' and the 'Cleansers.'
Environmental Traits
The Old Quarter is under a brutal quarantine. The leech-infested sluice gates are the only path to the main city, but they are impassable. The antitoxin dump has created a toxic, mutating ecology. The ultimate goal is to either purge the leeches and open the gates (risking a toxic flood) or find a way to control them, forever changing the city's underbelly.
