Elven scholars are blamed for leaving behind a 'Ward of Amplification' at the Sacred Pool, the region's arcane heart, though their intentions were misunderstood. Veteran adventurers arrive to a landscape where survival means navigating the fractured intentions of desperate protectors and the primal fury of corrupted nature itself.

Chronicle Prelude

The village of Glimmerhaven, a frontier settlement on the edge of the afflicted Plains. Buildings are reinforced with lead-lined shutters and warded cloth to dampen the unpredictable radiant flares. The air hums with tension and the distant, ethereal screams of unicorns in pain.

Environmental Traits

A catastrophic magical feedback loop centered on the Sacred Pool is causing the unicorn affliction. The unicorns' migraines generate raw arcane energy, which feeds the Ward of Amplification, which in turn intensifies the migraines, threatening to create a permanent, expanding zone of wild magic and scorched earth.
