The Maze Echoes of Echo Valley and the Minotaur's Lost Navigational Amulet
Echo Valley is a cursed, sound-mimicking wasteland where reality folds. The lost Amulet of Kael the Wanderer, a minotaur architect who built the Labyrinth of Echoes, is the only key to navigating the maze. Two factions seek it: the Stonewright Covenant, desperate miners trying to seal the maze's leaking magical radiation before it mutates their children, and the Echo Chorus, a cult of the valley's original inhabitants who believe the maze's echoes are the voices of their ancestors, and sealing it would silence them forever. Your party, hired as neutral fixers, must delve into the heart of the labyrinth and decide the valley's fate.
Chronicle Prelude
The settlement of Resonance Outpost clings to the cliffside at Echo Valley's rim. A collection of shacks and crude magical dampeners, it is a tense truce zone between the Stonewright Covenant's engineers and the Echo Chorus's shamans. The air hums with dissonant whispers that sound just like your own thoughts.
Environmental Traits
The Labyrinth of Echoes, built by the minotaur Kael, is a spatial anomaly powered by the lost Navigational Amulet. Without it, the maze's walls shift, its corridors loop, and its very structure broadcasts psychic echoes that drive explorers mad. The valley's ecosystems are warping; the Stonewright miners are suffering physical mutations, while the Echo Chorus shamans claim their ancestral connection is growing stronger. The amulet is the only tool that can either stabilize the maze (sealing the radiation) or amplify its echoes (empowering the chorus).
