The deep Underdark trembles as a colossal Obsidian Golem, forged in forgotten ages, rampages across the shores of the Sulfur Magma Lake. Its heart, a lost Control Scepter, was stolen from the Fire Dwarven Priest-Queen, who now lies in a coma. Two desperate factions seek the Scepter: one to stop the Golem, the other to harness its power for survival. The Underdark's delicate balance of power teeters on a knife's edge, and only the players' choices will determine if this is a dawn or an apocalypse.

Chronicle Prelude

The players arrive at the subterranean settlement of Emberveil, a haven of dim red light and soot-stained stone, built into the walls of a massive magma chamber. The air shimmers with heat, and the distant, rhythmic booming of the Golem's footsteps echoes through the tunnels. Emberveil is a neutral trading post, now overrun with refugees from the nearby Fire Dwarven fortress of Cinderhold.

Environmental Traits

The Obsidian Golem, a living siege engine of magma and volcanic glass, is on a path of annihilation toward the heart of the Underdark. Its rampage is destabilizing the very caverns, threatening to collapse entire regions. The legendary Control Scepter, capable of commanding the Golem, is missing, last seen in the hands of the Fire Dwarven Priest-Queen before her mysterious collapse.
