A catastrophic leak from the local Alchemist's Workshop has saturated the soil with a potent Growth Elixir, causing the native giant centipedes to mutate into monstrous, swarming horrors that now besiege the town. The players arrive as outsiders, caught between the desperate townsfolk who want the aberrations purged by any means, and the reclusive Alchemists' Collective who believe the elixir represents a miraculous breakthrough in desert terraforming and refuse to see their life's work destroyed. The leaking reactor core must be stabilized, but the methods and the fate of the monstrous ecosystem it has spawned will be decided in blood and choice.

Chronicle Prelude

You stagger through the shimmering heat haze into Sunstone Outpost, a cluster of sun-baked adobe buildings and rickety wooden watchtowers surrounded by a hastily dug trench. The air thrums with a low, chitinous hum. Townsfolk, eyes wide with terror, bar windows and sharpen weapons while a contingent of robed figures—the Alchemists' Collective—argue fiercely near the sealed gates of their Workshop, refusing to let anyone near their 'vital research'. A colossal, mutated centipede corpse lies stinking in the central square, a testament to the new reality.

Environmental Traits

The town is under siege. The Growth Elixir leak has created a hostile, hyper-fertile zone around the Workshop, causing flora to grow with aggressive speed and attracting monstrous centipede swarms that view the town as a rival colony.
