The cliffs of Macaw's Roost have always been dangerous, but now the giant macaws that nest there have begun mimicking more than just the cries of the jungle. They are broadcasting fragments of a complex, coded language—a cipher—that is driving the local beasts into a frenzy and revealing the hidden movements of the 'Whispering Talon' bandit syndicate. Two desperate factions, each with a legitimate claim to survival, seek the source of this 'Mimicry Leak' for their own ends, and the truth may be more monstrous than either suspects.

Chronicle Prelude

You arrive at the frontier outpost of 'Porto Pluma,' a ramshackle trading post built into the roots of a colossal jungle tree, overlooking the mist-shrouded Macaw Cliff region. The air is thick with humidity and the distant, unsettling cries of the macaws, which now carry an unnatural, rhythmic cadence.

Environmental Traits

The 'Mimicry Leak' is destabilizing the entire ecosystem. Beast attacks are up, trade caravans are being ambushed by creatures seemingly coordinated by the macaw broadcasts, and the local druids and merchants are at each other's throats over the cause and the solution. The players are hired to find the source and 'silence' it, but they will quickly learn that silence means very different things to different people.
