The Sentinel's Withering
The ancient Greatwood Keep, once a living bastion of sentinel vines and shimmering dew, is dying. Its miraculous Guardian Vine Sentry-Drops, capable of healing any wound or blight, have been poisoned by a virulent, unnatural rot. The Adjutant, the keep's ancient caretaker entity, desperately waters the afflicted vines with potent Pruning Elixirs, but the cure is worse than the disease. The elixirs, while slowing the rot, are making the vines feral and hostile. You are hired by the Silverbark Conservators to find a true cure, but the infamous Thornwood Harvesters see the dying keep as a final, lucrative payday. The truth lies buried in the keep's roots, and both factions will kill for it.
Chronicle Prelude
The village of Moss Haven, a small settlement at the edge of the Greatwood, is the last bastion of civilization before the cursed forest. It is tense and divided. Silverbark Conservator druids preach patience and a sacred duty to heal the wood, while grim-faced Thornwood Harvester mercenaries stockpile alchemical gear, eyeing the forest's edge with predatory intent. The air smells of damp earth, rot, and desperation.
Environmental Traits
The Greatwood Keep is a living, dying fortress. Its once-benign guardian vines, now maddened by the Adjutant's elixirs, lash out at all intruders. The rot spreads from the keep's inner sanctum, threatening to consume the entire forest and the village with it. The goal is to reach the heart of the rot and make a choice that will determine the fate of the keep and all who depend on it.
