The Severed Anchor of Crab Isle
The island of Crabholme, a craggy, tide-battered outcrop where colossal crabs have severed the great stone anchors of a forgotten temple, is now the stage for a desperate struggle. Fishermen, guided by a whispering madness, have begun casting grotesque, pulsating lures into the deep, drawing a monstrous octopus that seeks to drown the island in a rising, sentient tide. Caught between the territorial fury of the ancient crustaceans and the alien hunger of the deep, adventurers must navigate a labyrinth of tidal caves and choose which primordial horror they must ally with—or unleash—to survive the coming submersion.
Chronicle Prelude
The safe harbor of Port Chelicer, a stilt-village clinging to Crabholme's northern cliffs. Nets hang heavy with strange, overgrown crabs, and the air smells of brine and fear. The village elder speaks of the 'Anchor-Severing'—the crabs' deliberate destruction of the temple moorings—as a territorial defense against something rising from the abyssal trenches.
Environmental Traits
The island is slowly sinking. The colossal octopus, lured by the fishermen's madness-tainted offerings, is psychically raising the sea level. The goal is to sever the connection—either by stopping the fishermen, appeasing or slaying the octopus, or forging a pact with the crab guardians to anchor the island anew.
