The ancient pact with the Giant Eagles of Soaring Peak is broken. Their sacred Eyrie, high in the jagged peaks, is in turmoil after the mysterious fracturing of the legendary Exotic Saddle, a symbol of trust between eagles and surface-dwellers. The eagles now refuse all transit, isolating remote mountain communities. You arrive at the windswept base camp of Windhaven, where two desperate factions vie for your help to reach the Eyrie and restore—or exploit—the broken bond.

Chronicle Prelude

Windhaven Base Camp: A rugged, snow-dusted outpost of wooden longhouses and rope bridges clinging to the mountainside. Smoke rises from multiple chimneys, but the mood is tense. Herders, merchants, and displaced pilgrims crowd the central lodge, their eyes fixed on the impassable peaks above where the Giant Eagles once soared.

Environmental Traits

The regional crisis is the total cessation of Giant Eagle transit, which has severed trade routes, stranded pilgrims, and isolated mountain villages from vital supplies. The cause is the fracturing of the Exotic Saddle within the Eagles' Eyrie, an event that has enraged the eagles and shattered their trust in all surface-walkers. Reaching the high-altitude Eyrie and resolving the saddle's fate is the only path to restoring the skyways or seizing their power.
