Two desperate factions clash over this bounty: one seeks to harvest the pearls to save their plague-stricken homeland, the other seeks to protect the sentient crabs and the fragile ecosystem at any cost. Your party is caught in the middle, forced to navigate a morally gray wasteland where survival, ethics, and the fate of a region hang in the balance.

Chronicle Prelude

You arrive at the coastal settlement of Tidewatch, a ramshackle collection of stilt-houses clinging to the cliffs overlooking the newly exposed Shell Beach. The air smells of salt, decay, and ozone. Haggard fishermen and grim-faced Wardens eye each other with open hostility. The ground trembles periodically as the colossal crabs shift miles offshore. This is your only safe harbor before the descent into the shifting, hostile beach.

Environmental Traits

The region is dying. A creeping, crystalline blight called 'The Vitreous Rot' is petrifying the land and its people. The Pearls are the only rumored cure. However, the crabs are not mindless beasts; they are part of a vast, interconnected consciousness. Harvesting the pearls may save thousands but could trigger an ecological cataclysm. The party must navigate this impossible choice to resolve the crisis.
