The Silver-Scale Requiem
The Silver-Scale River, once a bountiful artery of trade, now flows thick with an oily, silver sheen. Fishermen pull up nets writhing with fish that bear uncanny, human-like faces—their eyes hold a silent, pleading intelligence. At the river's deepest bend, a colossal bronze bell has been dredged, covered in barnacles and blasphemous runes. A low, resonant hum emanates from it, a sound that whispers sanity away. Two desperate powers seek to control the bell and the fate of the river's inhabitants: one to silence the horror and restore order, the other to listen to its 'song' and achieve a terrible apotheosis. Veteran players will navigate a web of half-truths, where every choice to save one life may condemn another to a fate worse than death.
Chronicle Prelude
The bustling, rain-slicked port town of Siltmouth. Docks creak under the weight of fish hauls, but the catch is now cause for weeping and dread. The air smells of salt, tar, and a new, cloying scent of something floral and wrong. The town is divided between those who want to destroy the bell and those who revere it.
Environmental Traits
The entire Silver-Scale River basin is undergoing a metamorphosis. The bell's influence is warping flora, fauna, and the very waters. The ultimate goal is to determine the bell's true nature and decide whether to destroy it, use it, or unleash its full potential upon the world, with catastrophic consequences for the human-faced fish and the region's ecosystem.
