Two desperate factions clash over the Springs' salvation or exploitation, and the party is caught in the miasma, their own judgment clouded by the very air they breathe.

Chronicle Prelude

The party arrives at the smoky, peripheral settlement of Ashen Rest, a ramshackle town of miners, mystics, and refugees from the deeper fumes. The air is thick and sweet, and the locals have a glazed, detached look. A constant, low thrum vibrates through the ground.

Environmental Traits

The Brimstone Springs caldera is a geological and psychic anomaly. The soporific gas clouds judgment and induces prophetic, often terrifying, hallucinations. The Hypnotic Minerals beneath amplify psychic energy, making the region a nexus of dream and delusion. The central crisis: the gas is spreading, threatening to blanket the continent in an endless, peaceful slumber. The party must navigate the physical and mental hazards to reach the source and decide its fate.
