The Spiteful Caravan and the Ridge of Thirst
The oasis of Al-Sihir is dying. A massive, corrupted caravan from the north has dumped its spoiled cargo—barrels of rancid, magically-tainted camel spit—into the life-giving aquifers. The desert ridge itself, home to the last free herds of giant camels, has been driven into a frenzy by the toxic runoff. You are caught between the desperate settlers of Al-Sihir, who see the camels as rabid beasts to be exterminated, and the disgraced Caravan Guild, who claim the cargo was sabotaged by a rival and that the camels are now the true key to purifying the water. Both sides offer salvation, but at a terrible cost.
Chronicle Prelude
The dusty, sun-baked market square of Al-Sihir, a fortified oasis settlement. Water rationing is in effect, and a palpable tension hangs in the air between settlers and a small, guarded contingent of Caravan Guild survivors seeking shelter.
Environmental Traits
The regional crisis is the poisoning of the Al-Sihir Aquifer by spoiled magical cargo, causing dehydration, crop failure, and driving the native giant camels into a state of aggressive, unnatural rage. Victory requires restoring the water source and deciding the fate of both the settlers and the camels.
