The Sundered Canopy of Silverleaf
The ancient Silverleaf Forest, a verdant realm where the fey and mortal worlds once intertwined, is bleeding. A band of desperate settlers, the Glimmer Fey Ironware Camp, felled the Sovereign Sacred Tree—the forest's heart—to fuel their forges and build their homes. Now, the forest is a wounded, hostile entity. The spirits are enraged, the natural order is collapsing, and a creeping blight of cold iron and sorrow spreads from the stump. You are not heroes; you are arbiters drawn into a conflict where survival and sanctity are at war, and the only certainty is that the forest will demand a price in blood or spirit.
Chronicle Prelude
You arrive at the fringe of the Silverleaf Forest, at the hastily fortified lumber camp known as 'Glimmer Fey Ironware.' The air smells of pine, coal smoke, and something deeper—like wet earth and ozone. A pall of unnatural twilight hangs over the trees ahead, and the sound of saws and hammers is punctuated by distant, mournful howls. The camp's leader, a grim-faced woman named Elara, offers you coin to 'pacify the hostile fey' threatening their livelihood.
Environmental Traits
The forest is dying. The death of the Sovereign Sacred Tree has created a 'Sundering Blight'—a spreading zone of cold iron contamination and spectral rage. The fey creatures are maddened and aggressive, the flora is twisting into hostile forms, and the very ground is becoming unstable. The camp's continued existence is poisoning the land, but their destruction would leave dozens of families to starve in a harsh frontier.
