The Venomous Tides of Old Quarter
The ancient drainage sluices beneath the city's Old Quarter have become choked with mutated, venomous giant leeches—a blight born from the desperate act of black market apothecaries dumping failed antitoxins. Now, the district is sealed by quarantine blockades, and two factions clash over the only cure. Players navigate a toxic labyrinth of flooded streets and corrupted tunnels, forced to choose between those who would burn the rot away and those who would harvest its potential.
Chronicle Prelude
The players arrive at the outer barricades of the Old Quarter. The air smells of damp stone and a faint, cloying sweetness—the scent of the leech venom. Quarantine guards from the Healers' Consortium and desperate refugees line the walls. Beyond, the flooded streets and crumbling buildings await.
Environmental Traits
A district-wide ecological and social collapse. The mutated leeches have infested the waterways, their venom causing a slow, crystallizing rot in victims. The antitoxins, dumped recklessly, have only accelerated the mutations. Victory is the cleansing of the Old Quarter or the mastering of its new, terrible ecology.
