Initial Crime Scene
The air hangs thick with the scent of old beeswax and a faint, sharp tang of spilled laudanum. A single, muffled sob cuts through the silence from behind a closed drawing-room door. Before you, a mahogany clockcase shows a deep, splintery inward dent. A silver locket on the mantel catches the light, its clasp seam displaying a fine, hairline fracture. Dust motes drift in the grey light slanting through a high window.
Crime Scene Environment
Lighting is a perpetual, grey dusk, filtered through heavy curtains and high, narrow windows. The air is cool and still, carrying a humidity that feels clinging, weighed down by the scent of furniture wax and dried flowers. Acoustic density is low; sounds are swallowed by plush rugs, heavy drapes, and the oppressive quiet of old wood and leather.
