The Volcanic Hearth-Core, a primordial shard of pure elemental fire that stabilized the volcano's ecosystem, has been shattered. Its fragments, radiating chaotic energy, are now in the hands of rival factions, each convinced their survival depends on possessing them. You are not heroes arriving to save the day; you are agents of consequence, stepping into a conflict where every choice condemns someone to ash.

Chronicle Prelude

The frontier town of Ashenfeld, a settlement built on cooled lava flows. The air tastes of sulfur and desperation. The granaries are nearly empty, the farmers' fields are scorched husks, and the town square is dominated by a heated argument between representatives of the Cinder Wardens and the Hearth-Kin.

Environmental Traits

The region is in ecological collapse. Without the stabilizing Hearth-Core, the Cinder Volcano's magma flows have become erratic, and the native Magma Beetle population has exploded, migrating into the lowlands. The crisis will culminate in either a permanent famine if the Core is not restored, or a catastrophic volcanic eruption if its power is misused.
