This foam, a byproduct of unchecked planar energy, consumes all it touches, birthing twisted slag-golems and fire-elemental horrors. The Foundry's few surviving apprentices, torn between duty and desperation, seek outsiders to contain the disaster before the foam breaches the mountain and engulfs the lowlands. Yet, whispers speak of a deeper power within the Foundry's heart, a primal flame left untended, waiting to be claimed or extinguished forever. Veteran adventurers will navigate treacherous industrial ruins, make impossible choices between competing survivor factions, and confront the true source of the catastrophe.

Chronicle Prelude

You arrive at the Foothills Camp, a makeshift settlement of refugees and salvage crews at the base of the mountain. Smoke rises from vents in the rock. The air tastes of ozone and burnt metal. Here, two desperate groups make their case for your aid: the Forge-Wardens, loyalists who wish to re-stabilize the Crucible at any cost, and the Flame-Seekers, mystics who believe the primal flame must be freed to 'purify' the region. The path to the Foundry's main gate is a treacherous climb up the Slag Run, a river of cooling, unstable foam.

Environmental Traits

The Foundry's core is in catastrophic failure. The Automated Crucible's containment has ruptured, flooding lower levels with volatile elemental foam. This foam mutates terrain and spawns hostile entities. The crisis threatens to trigger a chain reaction that could detonate the mountain itself. The ultimate goal is to reach the Central Forge, the source of the primal flame, and decide its fate.
