The Gaze of the Slow-Loris Woods
The ancient Slow-Loris Woods are said to have a gaze that stills the soul. Within its tangled heart, the lost Amulet of Hypnosis—a relic of a forgotten druid—lies dormant, its power a whisper on the wind. Two factions now vie for its control: the Circle of the Verdant Sleep, who believe the amulet can restore a dying forest spirit and end a spreading blight, and the Soporific Wardens, who seek to destroy the relic, fearing its hypnotic power will corrupt all who seek it, creating a kingdom of thralls. The woods themselves are not passive; they respond to the amulet's latent power, and the creatures within have grown strange and lethargic. Veteran adventurers must navigate this morally gray conflict, where every choice has consequence, and the fate of the woods and its inhabitants hangs in the balance.
Chronicle Prelude
The campaign begins in the frontier hamlet of Mosshaven, a damp, moss-covered settlement on the very edge of the Slow-Loris Woods. The air is perpetually thick with a sweet, soporific pollen. The hamlet serves as a staging ground for woodcutters, herbalists, and now, two rival factions seeking to delve deeper into the woods. Tension is high, and whispers of the 'Gaze' are constant.
Environmental Traits
The ultimate goal is to locate and decide the fate of the Lost Amulet of Hypnosis, hidden in the heart of the Slow-Loris Woods. The forest itself is under a spreading 'Verdant Blight' that turns trees to brittle, grey crystal. The amulet is the only key to saving or destroying the forest's heart-spirit, the Loris Monarch. The victory condition is resolving the conflict between the factions and the forest itself.
