Chronicle Prelude

You emerge into the Rust Warrens, a sprawling, makeshift hub carved from a collapsed cavern. The air is thick with smoke from forges and the clatter of makeshift workshops. Kobolds of all stripes scurry about, some bearing the grease-stains of the Cart-Runner faction, others the hammer-and-chisel sigil of the Rail-Keeper traditionalists. Environmental Traits

The Kobold Shafts are a network of ancient, dangerously unstable mines. A critical rail junction, the 'Heart-Track Switch', has been sabotaged, sending carts on uncontrollable spirals into the deep. The Runaway Carts are both a symptom and a weapon in the growing civil conflict between the progressive Cart-Runners and the traditionalist Rail-Keepers.
