The Razor-Edged Obsidian Flats and the Pristine Primal Mirror

# Intrigue# Wilderness# Investigation

Beyond the ash-choked valleys lies a landscape of impossible geology: the Obsidian Flats, a vast, razor-sharp plain of volcanic glass that reflects a sky that is not its own. At its heart, legend claims, floats the Primal Mirror—a lake of perfectly still, mercury-like water that reflects not the current world, but a primordial, untamed version of reality. Two desperate groups now converge on the Mirror, each convinced it is the only salvation for their people. The Glasswalkers seek to shatter it, believing its reality-warping influence is a creeping cancer upon the world. The Duskwoven seek to drink from it, believing the Mirror's primordial essence is the last cure for the Blight that rots their children from within. To reach it, you must cross miles of ground that cuts steel and boots, navigate shifting illusions cast by the Mirror's edge, and choose who you are willing to condemn to save.

The campaign begins in Dusthaven, a fortified trading post and last safe settlement on the edge of the Obsidian Flats. It is a place of grim commerce, where weary travelers barter for obsidian-proof boots and salt-stone whetstones, and where scouts from both the Glasswalkers and Duskwoven quietly recruit help. The air tastes of grit and distant, metallic tang from the Flats.

The Primal Mirror at the center of the Flats is a reality anchor of immense power, slowly leaking primordial energy that warps flora and fauna at its edges and threatens to overwrite the modern world if left unchecked. However, it is also the only source of the primordial 'First Water' capable of cleansing the magical Blight afflicting the Duskwoven's youth. The crisis is a ticking clock of geological and biological decay.
