For generations, the automated beacon of Lighthouse Reef has guided ships through the treacherous Serpent's Jaw strait. Now, the great revolving mirrors in the Lantern Room are jammed, casting erratic, dangerous shadows that lure vessels onto the jagged reefs. Two desperate factions vie for control of the lighthouse's secret mechanism: one seeking to restore its life-saving function at any cost, the other determined to salvage its mystical core to save their own dying homeland. The players, drawn by a cryptic distress signal, must navigate the flooded ruins, contend with spectral echoes of past keepers, and ultimately decide whose future is worth the light of another.

Chronicle Prelude

The players arrive at the base of the towering, sea-sprayed lighthouse on the isolated Lighthouse Reef. The surrounding waters are littered with the recent wreckage of a merchant galley. The main entrance is half-submerged and blocked by collapsed masonry and twisted metal from the jammed mirror assembly above.

Environmental Traits

The great lighthouse beacon has gone haywire. Its once-steady beam now sweeps erratically, creating mesmerizing but lethal patterns that disorient and wreck ships. The entire reef is in a state of controlled chaos, with both factions racing to reach the Lantern Room to seize the mythical 'Aetheric Lens' at the mechanism's heart.

A young woman in waterlogged leather armor, pinned beneath a fallen beam in a flooded corridor. Her leg is clearly broken, and she winces with every movement. She clutches a waterproof satchel.
Reef Ghoul Alpha
A bloated, pallid humanoid covered in barnacles and deep-sea growth. Its limbs are elongated and end in webbed claws. It moves with a disturbing, fluid gurgling sound, leading a pack of lesser ghouls from a pile of shipwreck debris.
Gearwork Golem
A towering construct of interlocking bronze gears, steam pipes, and crystal conduits. It moves with a rhythmic, grinding cadence, its 'head' a massive lens that focuses light into searing beams. The symbol of the Keepers is etched onto its chest plate.
