Its once-majestic spires now drift like broken teeth, connected by unstable bridges of force and remnant magic. A catastrophic malfunction in the Ruin Core's anti-gravity drive has caused a localized, deadly gravity reversal—floors become ceilings, waterfalls flow upward, and the very architecture is in constant, lethal flux. Veteran explorers, power-seekers, and desperate refugees are drawn to the ruins, each hoping to claim the core's power or simply survive. But two factions stand in violent opposition, both convinced their path is the only way to save what remains. Your choices will determine who controls the sky, and who plummets into oblivion.

Chronicle Prelude

You stand on the fractured promontory of 'The Last Anchor,' a stable mesa of rock tethered to the ground by massive chains, now serving as a precarious trading post and camp for those who dare to look up. The air hums with residual energy from the floating debris above. Here, scavengers trade salvaged sky-stone, refugees from the lower cities huddle in makeshift tents, and emissaries from two rival factions vie for recruits. The path upward is treacherous, beginning with the 'Chain-Climb'—a vertical ascent of the very links binding the mesa to the lower sky-ruins, where a failed Strength (Athletics) or Dexterity check means a long, fatal fall.

Environmental Traits

The core objective is to reach the 'Aethelgard Ruin Core' at the apex of the shattered kingdom and stabilize or destroy the malfunctioning anti-gravity drive. This drive, a fusion of lost arcane engineering and primordial magic, is the source of the chaotic gravity fields. Its continued degradation threatens not only to consume Aethelgard itself in a gravitational implosion but also to unleash a reality-warping 'Gravity Bleed' upon the entire region below. The players must navigate the moral and physical labyrinth of the ruins, align with or betray factions, and make a final, irrevocable choice at the Core's sanctum.
