The Silent Blight of Conch Bay
A colossal, ancient conch horn lies half-buried at the heart of Conch Bay, its periodic, uncontrolled tidal-wave blasts rendering the region uninhabitable. Two desperate factions seek a solution, but the only artifact capable of silencing the horn—the Lost Muffling Plug—is rumored to lie in the treacherous depths of the bay itself. To plug the horn is to condemn the bay's unique magical ecosystem to eternal silence; to leave it be is to condemn the coastal communities to oblivion. There are no good choices here, only different brands of survival.
Chronicle Prelude
The party arrives at the fortified settlement of Tidehaven, built into the sea-cliffs above the bay. The air thrums with a low, subsonic vibration, and windows are shuttered with lead-lined planks. The town is divided, tense, and desperate for outsiders who can traverse the deadly, magically-charged shallows of the bay itself.
Environmental Traits
The world faces a recurring supernatural cataclysm: the 'Sonic Deluge,' a wave of pure force unleashed by the Giant Conch Horn. The waves are growing stronger and more frequent, threatening to shatter the coastal cliffs and erase all life for miles. The ultimate goal is to decide the fate of the horn and, by extension, the bay.
