Initial Crime Scene
The iron scent of old rust mixes with the stagnant bilge air as you step into the cramped chain locker. A faint, rhythmic ticking emanates from beneath a coil of hemp rope. Your lantern light catches the bright, linear scrapes on a single chain link, the deep, layered rust on the surrounding fittings, and the cold, damp grain of the deck planking underfoot.
Crime Scene Environment
The ship's interior is defined by low, guttering lamplight and a pervasive, high-humidity dampness that clings to all surfaces. Acoustic density is muffled and close, dominated by the constant, slow creak of stressed timber and the distant, rhythmic lap of water against the hull, all filtered through the tonal vocabulary of a briny, waterlogged, and silent vessel.
