Initial Crime Scene
The first sensation is the biting chill of the fog-laden air against your face as you step over the threshold. A heavy, rhythmic creaking emanates from the hull planking underfoot, the sound muffled by the pervasive damp. Your gaze is drawn immediately to the warped grain of the dark teak deck, the cold gleam of the brass instrument box on the desk, and the way the fog outside presses against the salt-crusted glass of the curved porthole, rendering the world a uniform, shifting grey.
Crime Scene Environment
Lighting is a gloomy, uneven mix of oil lamp pools and grey, diffused light filtering through fog-bound portholes. The humidity is high, the air cold and saturated with the smell of salt and damp wool.
