An independent investigator is summoned to a remote estate following the discovery of a deceased industrialist in the library. The heavy oak door of the library swings inward, releasing a layered scent: the pervasive coal smoke from the grate underlies a sharper, metallic tang. A single, high gaslight sputters, casting long shadows from the towering mahogany bookshelves that line the walls. Directly before you, a polished desk surface reflects a distorted rectangle of light, its landscape disturbed by scattered papers. On the floor near the desk leg, a single calling card lies face-down, its white edge contrasting with the dark wood.
Crime Scene Environment
The sandbox is defined by consistent, localized gas lighting that creates deep pools of shadow in corners and between large furnishings.
