A retired admiral is found deceased aboard his yacht, 'The Siren's Folly'. An investigator boards the stranded vessel to examine the physical evidence of the anchor chain, celestial logs, and testimonies of the six-person crew. The objective is to disentangle the personal panics that created the illusion of a complex mystery and reveal the underlying systemic truth.

The scent of hemp-stinking cordage and rust-weeping iron hangs heavy in the cramped chain locker, a single deck prism casting a grimy shaft of light onto the tangled, salt-crusted links. Your boots sink into the damp deck planking as you step inside, the chill of the deep-bowels compartment seeping through your oilskin coat. The massive, cold coils of the anchor chain are a dark, corroded landscape against the bulkhead, each link a record of long-term exposure. The silence is broken only by the slow, rhythmic drip of condensation from an overhead pipe.
Crime Scene Environment
The vessel is enveloped in a pre-dawn gloom, with a weak, star-filtered light penetrating the salt-crusted portholes.
